Cleaning Procedure for Filter Blockage in Molding Hydraulic Press

Introduction:

This document outlines the cleaning procedures for addressing filter blockages in a molding hydraulic press. Proper maintenance is crucial to ensure optimal performance and longevity.

Cleaning Methods:

1. Solvent Cleaning:

   - Common solvents include triethylene, paint thinner, toluene, gasoline, carbon tetrachloride, etc. These solvents are flammable and may have certain toxicity, requiring special attention during cleaning. Alkaline solutions such as caustic potash or caustic soda, surfactants, and electrolytic degreasing can also be used. After cleaning, solvents should be quickly removed, for example, by rinsing with water.

2. Mechanical and Physical Cleaning:

   - Brush Cleaning: Use a soft brush to remove dust and debris from the filter element. Avoid using hard wire brushes, as they may damage mesh or wire-gap filters and cause particles to fall off sintered filters. This method is not suitable for paper filters.

   - Washing: Place the filter element in a cleaning solution to remove accumulated dirt. However, porous filter materials may absorb some impurities, affecting cleaning effectiveness.

   - Heating and Evaporation: Some deposits on filters can be removed by heating. However, care must be taken not to leave carbon ash and solid deposits inside the filter during heating.

   - Compressed Air Blowing: Use compressed air to blow away accumulated dirt on the reverse side of the filter. Pulsating airflows can provide better results.

   - Water Pressure Cleaning: Similar to the above, alternate use of compressed air and water pressure cleaning methods yields better results.

Proper precautions should be taken to ensure safety during solvent cleaning, and the cleaning methods should be chosen based on the filter type and composition.
