Preventing Air Entry into the Hydraulic System of a 315-Ton Hydraulic Press

To prevent air from entering the hydraulic system of a 315-ton hydraulic press, follow the recommended measures:

a. Ensure that return oil pipes are connected below the oil level in the tank. Cut the end of the return oil pipe at an angle to reduce the formation of vortices or stirring effects in the hydraulic fluid.

b. Position the pump intake port away from the return oil pipe to allow excess air in the hydraulic fluid to escape within the time interval between system oil return and pump re-suction.

c. Use exhaust valves judiciously.

d. Ensure complete system sealing, especially in the hydraulic pump suction pipe, to prevent air ingestion.

e. To prevent various impurities from entering the system, leaked hydraulic fluid should not flow directly back into the tank. The tank vent must have an air filter, and when replacing hydraulic press hydraulic oil, thoroughly clean the system. Newly added oil must be filtered.

f. Minimize the use of materials such as zinc, lead, copper, etc., that can catalyze reactions in the oil. The interior surface of the tank should undergo acid pickling and phosphating treatment, and the sealing material should exhibit good oil resistance.

g. Regularly inspect the quality of hydraulic press hydraulic oil based on operating conditions.

h. Periodically check the oil level; if it falls below the lower limit of the oil level gauge, replenish it to the specified level. The added hydraulic oil must be of the same brand to prevent oil quality deterioration.
